Private John Morgan

 

The background of this man is not known at present.

John Morgan enlisted at Belfast on 16 January 1917. He was described as being 5' 4½" tall, and slightly deaf in the right ear. He stated that he was 21 years old, was born in Shankill, Belfast, and worked as a barman.

Between 23 and 26 June 1917 he was posted to the North Irish Horse (regimental number 2557). He was reported to have deserted from the regiment's reserve base at Antrim on 28 July 1917. It is not known if he was subsequentially apprehended.
